Aloha and welcome aboard, here are today’s stats. Both boats had excellent trips today. We’re still seeing lots of whales and the calves are still the stars of the show for a few more weeks. I suspect that we’ll get another group of males showing up any day now, and the Lek will be alive with mating. There seems to be some sort of lull going on right now. Don’t get me wrong, there are still a lot of Humpback Whales(Megaptera novaeangliae)on the breeding grounds, but we are at the halfway point in the season, and the ratio of males to females on the Lek is 2:1.

Aloha and welcome aboard, here are today’s stats. Once again we had picture perfect weather, and lots of sightings. SeaSmoke had the big numbers, and the most encounters. As you can see from the numbers both trips had excellent surface displays. We had three cow/calf/escorts, so our trip was dominated by the antics of baby whales, and protective Mothers  and Escorts. We also had an incredible breach by a fairly good size Humpback(Megaptera novaeangliae), what was so impressive about this display, was how high it jumped above the water.

Aloha and welcome aboard, here are today’s stats.
All three trips had big numbers, and lots of surface displays.Despite the fact that the A’LA’LA skirted an in-coming storm for two hours, we had an excellent whale watch. We had an exciting heat-run to start the trip.Ten whales were involved, and it was everything we have come to know these active and aggressive displays to be. We also had lots of activity out on the horizon as well. We had several highlights, one had to be the retrieval of a visitors hat that had blown over-board. They thought it was gone, and much to their surprise when our Captain and 1st Mate were able to save it.”YAY TEAM”!The final excitement came as we were nearing the end of our trip, and a Mom and calf started to breach….what a way to end a wonderful, and fun filled AM. Because of the winds it was harder to see all the Cetaceans that were concealed on the Lek at first, but later in the AM, we could easily see that there are still a plethora of Humpback whales(Megaptera novaeangliae), on the Lek
