Venturing north on the Kohala Coast, the crew of the Alala discovered a remote and secluded bay the crew named “Crystal Cove”. Captain Shane Satomba described how the crew had accidentally happened upon the pristine cove, “We weren’t really looking for it but were exploring the remote coastline and happened upon it. At first I thought it was too shallow to bring the boat into but we carefully guided the vessel through a channel between the reef and found the perfect anchorage”.
